Lately I've been comparing painting to cooking. Perhaps that is because my friend who helps in the studio is a gifted baker. Both painting and cooking require tools, skill, and know-how. But what I have been thinking about the most is this- that excitement that brews when you've been preparing something new that pleases your senses and you anticipate the opportunity to open the door and invite those you care about to taste and see. And you clasp your hands together and you watch to see how they react with each bite (or each view in my case). It's a labor of love. A feast for the soul. A way to share your love.
And now, it's almost time for the company to arrive!
